issues ranging from medical illness to everyday
stress. - The focus is not on artistic skill, but on the healing
journey of using art making and therapeutic
concepts to access inner and outer resources for

Georgia O'Keeffe once said, "To create one's own world in any of the arts takes courage.” I know how
overwhelming life’s challenges can feel, especially when navigating identity, trauma, and personal growth.
As a board-certified art therapist and licensed counselor, I help adolescents and adults reconnect with
themselves through Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, psychodynamic techniques, and
creative practices—all with an intersectionality- and trauma-informed approach.
Before opening my private practice in 2014, I worked in schools, hospitals, artist studios, and outpatient
facilities, gaining extensive experience in trauma-informed care. From 2007-2014, I trained at the
Psychiatric Institute of Washington (PIW), working with individuals with PTSD and trauma-related
disorders.
Throughout my career, I’ve been deeply committed to supporting Black and Indigenous People of Color
(BIPOC) facing race-based stress and trauma. I’ve co-facilitated groups for BIPOC women on race,
gender, and generational trauma, and I enjoy collaborating with students and new clinicians through
supervision as an Art Therapy Clinical Supervisor (ATCS) and DC/Maryland-approved supervisor for LGPCs.
My approach to therapy has evolved to include holistic healing practices, incorporating my training in IFS
(Level 1), yoga (RYT-200), Reiki Master Teacher (Usui Shiki Ryoho), Somatic Experiencing, and MARI
(Mandala Assessment Research Instrument). Currently, I’m writing a chapter for an art therapy book and
developing a blog through Psychology Today called “Communal Healing.”
Beyond therapy, I love studying astrology, caring for my houseplants, and creating art.

Life’s challenges can leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself. But healing is
possible—and creativity can be a powerful tool for transformation.
As an art therapist, I believe that true growth comes from a balance of freedom and discipline, much like
the artistic process itself. My role is to guide and support you as you discover your own path to healing, self-
awareness, and liberation. Whether you're navigating stress, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or parenting
complexities, we will work together to develop creative, personalized tools that help you move forward.
Rooted in Humanism, Social Justice Competencies, Feminist Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy, my approach
is person-centered and collaborative. This is your journey—I’m here to help you explore, create, and reclaim
your sense of self. Let’s begin your healing process together.
“Freeing yourself was one thing, claiming ownership of that freed self was another.”
— Toni Morrison
Healing isn’t just about breaking free from what holds you back—it’s about stepping fully into who you are.
As a licensed graduate professional counselor in Washington, DC and Maryland I believe that the
therapeutic relationship is the foundation of real transformation. My goal is to create a space where you
feel seen, heard, and supported as you navigate your journey of self-discovery and self-love.
With a master’s degree in counseling from Boston University and clinical experience in outpatient clinics,
residential treatment programs, university counseling centers, and athletic teams, I’ve worked extensively
with adolescents, young adults, and adults—particularly those who identify as LGBTQ+ and individuals from
racial and ethnic minoritized communities.
I am passionate about consulting and contributing to publications that explore mental health, cultural
identity, and holistic healing, aiming to expand conversations that foster personal and collective growth.
Using a holistic, culturally responsive approach, I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure
response prevention, brainspotting, emotion-focused therapy, and internal family systems. Whether you're
facing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, phobias, or OCD, we will work together to honor your
identity, understand your emotions, and build the tools to reclaim your life.
